The Power Bank is practical and easy to use and can be easily charged by Global Solar Energy, Inc. (GSE) solar products. It is compatible with many mobile phones, PDAs, digital cameras and many other devices by using the specialized connectors, making it a versatile travel companion.
In addition, the 12V CLA cable nearly completes the universal connectivity by enabling small electronics loads (less than ~3.5Watts) to be operated through the customer-provided male CLA adapter. CLA will not operate loads that are rated higher than 3.5 watts. Therefore, this battery bank will typically not work with many of smart phones, PDAs, hand-held computers, pocket PCs, unless they are listed in the compatibility section.
Please read this User’s Guide carefully before using the Power Bank. The suppliers assume no responsibility for any damages that may happen with the improper operation of this product. Contact your personal device supplier to ensure compatibility before connecting.

4. General Operation Methods
4.1
Before using the power bank, check the capacity of the power bank battery: connect the 3.5 mm DC connector digital camera or mobile phone / PDA adaptor to the DC jack of the power bank. Then switch the voltage to the DC 5.2 V and press the battery capacity indicator button. The table below will explain the battery capacity remaining for your reference.

Note: The Battery Capacity indicator only works if 5.2V is selected and a plug is inserted into output jack.
4.2
If the low battery indicator lights up during work mode, recharge the power bank: connect the DC
connector of the travel charger or car charger to the power bank to commence charging. When
charging, the charge indicator lights up and will fade out automatically once charging is
complete. It is advisable to charge overnight before using the first time.
4.3
Charging a digital camera

Select the right size DC connector for your digital camera.

Correctly connect DC connector to digital camera. If the camera charging jack is inner
positive and outer negative, a “+” symbol on the DC connector should be accordant with the
“TIP” symbol on the digital camera cable (see Figure 2); If the camera charging jack is inner
negative and outer positive, a “-” symbol on the DC connector should be accordant with the
“TIP” symbol on digital camera cable (see Figure 3).

Select the voltage required by the digital camera, i.e. 5.2 V, 6.2 V or 7.2 V.

After Connecting the DC connector to the digital camera, insert the digital camera cable to
the power bank’s DC jack to commence charging.
Warnings:
1. Please ensure that the connection between the digital camera cable is correct
as the wrong connection will damage the connected devices.
2. Do not push the voltage switch when charging devices, the connected device
may be damaged.
4.4
Charging a mobile phone / PDA
a
Select the right size cable that the mobile phone / PDA requires.
b
Connect the mobile phone / PDA cable to the universal adaptor.
c
Switch the voltage to DC 5.2 V.
d
Connect the mobile phone / PDA connector to the mobile phone / PDA and connect DC
connector to the output jack of the battery bank.
Warnings:
Do not push the voltage switch when charging the mobile phone or PDA, or the
connected device may be damaged.
4.5
Charging Devices through the CLA

Select the 12V CLA Cable (Figure 8)

Connect the CLA adapter for your cell phone / PDA to the CLA cable receptacle
c
Switch the voltage to DC 5.2V.

Connect the 12V CLA cable to the output jack of the battery bank
5. Special Considerations when Utilizing Solar for Charging Battery
5.1
Unfold and place the Solar Panel in a sunny location
5.2
Tilting or propping the module towards the sun reduces the charge time.
5.3
Batteries are not intended for use at temperatures higher than approximately 45C (122F) or
below 0C (32F). Be sure to place the Battery Bank in the shade during charging to avoid overtemperature
and damage.
5.4
The attachment from the GSE solar module can be made using a 5.5mm OD, 2.1mm ID barrel
plug adapter. To enhance this connectivity, GSE offers:

the GSE adapter cable #28001 [See Figure 9] to go from 2-prong SAE connector to barrel
plug, and
b
the GSE adapter cable #28002 [See Figure 10] to adapt from a 2.5mm ID to a 2.1mm ID
barrel plug.

Estimated Charging times are shown in the table below for charging the Battery Bank with
different sizes of Solar Product.

Note: Charge times assume that the module is sitting in direct sunlight and tilted toward the sun.
6. Precautions
6.1
Keep this product in a dry place. Never place or use the product in wet or dirty conditions.
6.2
Never throw this product into a fire.
6.3
Never throw or drop this product to avoid causing damages.
6.4
If you do not plan to use the product, please disconnect digital camera cable or 3.5 mm DC
connector of universal adaptor from the power bank. The power bank will change to power
saver mode to conserve the battery.
6.5
If battery level of charge is less than ~10%, the internal controller automatically switches to
Power Saver mode (i.e. trickle charging). To reset, assuming Low Power Light is on, disconnect
load, disconnect and reconnect the input plug, and charge for 15-30 minutes prior to
reconnecting load.
6.6
Never attempt to alter or disassemble the product. If there is a problem with the product please
contact your dealer for further assistance.
7. Powerbank Compatibility
As described above, the Power Bank is compatible with many mobile phones, PDAs, digital cameras
and many other devices by using the optional charger connectors, making it a versatile travel
companion. In addition, the 12V CLA cable nearly completes the universal connectivity by enabling
small electronics loads (less than ~3.5Watts) to be operated through the customer-provided male
CLA adapter.
Warning: Be sure to check the compatibility of your electronics prior to attaching to Power Bank to
avoid any possible damage. Contact your electronic supplier first.
