1. Do I have to be in sunlight for my headphones to work? The Soltronix® headphones do not require exposure to the sun at all times in order to operate your headphones. The headphones are solar rechargeable—the headphones will continue to run on stored energy while out of the sunlight and recharge when back in the sunlight, even while listening!
2. How long does it take to recharge my headphones? For every hour that you leave your Soltronix® headphones’ solar cells exposed to sunlight, you can expect one to three hours of listening time. A full charge provides over 20 hours of listening.
3. Will my headphones recharge under indoor lighting? Yes, the PowerFilm™ solar cells found on top of the headphones will still recharge under interior lighting. However, the headphones will recharge at a much slower rate under indoor lighting. For the best recharging results, place the headphones so they are exposed to sunlight.
4. Will my headphones recharge on cloudy days? Yes, the PowerFilm™ solar cells on the top of the headphones will continue to recharge even on cloudy days but at a slower rate than sunnier days.
5. How do the headphones store energy? The PowerFilm™ solar cells at the top of the Soltronix® headphones recharge a Ni-MH (Nickel Metal Hydride) battery. Ni-MH batteries are dry cell, high capacity, and an environmentally friendly, toxin free (no lead or cadmium) solution. In addition, Ni-MH batteries offer exceptional battery life, only needing replacement generally every 5 years.
6. What kind of sound quality do the headphones provide? The Soltronix® headphones are designed not only to be environmentally friendly but provide good sound quality. A high-power, interior antenna enables strong reception.
7. Can my headphone get wet? The headphones may get wet. Many of our customers have remarked on the usefulness of their Soltronix® headphones while boating, jogging, and walking. While the headphones are resistant to moisture, they are not fully waterproof and are not meant for underwater purposes.
8. What kind of warranty is provided? Soltronix® offers a 3-year warranty on the PowerFilm™ solar modules against defects in material or workmanship. The headphones carry an industry-standard 90-day product warranty
